In 2004 Rose Nammack established Rosie in the heart of downtown New Canaan. Since the beginning, Rosie has won loyal customers by presenting their idea of seasonal American comfort food (i.e. braised lamb shank, lobster roll, shrimp and grits and chicken pot pie) using the finest ingredients available. Some menu highlights include the huevos rancheros, fish taco, homemade soups, grilled panini and decorated cupcakes. Rosie is also a place to enjoy some great coffee while inspecting the ever-changing display of work by local artists. Rosie offers table service, take-out and professional level catering. Gracious service, award winning desserts and free delivery in town are just some of the features Rosie brings to the table. Easily accessible from Elm Street with hours every day of the week except for Monday, be prepared for a warm welcome!

About the Chef

Rose Nammack is a visionary, artistic caterer with incredible cooking skills, a sense of fun and adventure and a strong commitment to serving their discerning clients the best of everything. Rosie is a largely self-taught chef with training at the New York Restaurant School and the Pierre Hotel in New York. She has extensive restaurant experience and worked for some time at Paul Newman’s Good Food Store in Darien before joining the staff at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens as Sous Chef at the celebrated Palm House.

The Future

Rosie is recreated every day: fresh ingredients are purchased and food is prepared to order; customers are greeted and served and the staff gets a constant flow of instruction so that everything gets done correctly and on time. This is key to Rosie’s success to date.
